a rebuild will cost alot. Roughly beetwen 2 and 10 thousand depending on size and style. There may be other less expensive remedies such as galvanized steel straps (if the crack is vertical) or plastering with metal mesh. you didn't even come close to giving engouh details for even a ballpark answer. what are the dimensions of the chimney? what type of roof is it on? what kind of materials do you want to use?stop assuming everyone has the same thing. most americans build cheap trash, while a couple build things proper. there's a huge difference.

depends on the severity of the crack rennkcpoiutitg is an option. i would not suggest straping it as this is only a temporary fix and wire mesh will only do the same plus its more like an eye sore. general rule of thumb for a repair like this is usually 3 to 9 dollars a square foot depending on the size of the chimney. do the math yourself to have a comparison price when you have estimates done.

Michael from Sandy Chimney and Masonry came to our Welches home right on time to clean and inspect our fireplace insert. He covered the carpet from door to fireplace. Very impressed.
This was a unfamiliar insert for us, and Michael took time to explain the operation, cleaning, piping and running of this stove. He did an excellent job cleaning.
We were concerned about the mortar and bricks on the outside, so Michael took time to inspect and explains the repairs to be done in the Spring. We were given a brochure on chimney saver prevention of water damage to read. We will be scheduling when dryer weather. Thanks again, .
